Polypodium vulgare is an evergreen, sturdy fern with glossy green, feather-shaped leaves that give a natural and gentle appearance. This species is ideal for shady borders, rock gardens, and under trees, where it adds structure and a fresh green touch in all seasons. Polypodium vulgare grows best in a sheltered, partly shaded to shaded spot in well-drained, humus-rich soil.
