Liatris spicata, also known as blazing star or prairie torch, is a striking perennial with upright flower spikes full of purplish-pink blossoms that bloom from top to bottom. This special flowering form makes the plant a true eye-catcher in borders, prairie plantings, and natural gardens. Liatris spicata prefers a sunny spot and well-drained soil, is low-maintenance, and hardy in winter. Additionally, it attracts many bees and butterflies and provides vertical structure and long-lasting summer color in the garden.
