Fiddle-leaf fig tree ø27cm, 160cm tall
The fiddle-leaf fig is fortunately not a difficult plant to care for. However, the fig is sensitive to a new environment. We therefore recommend not moving the plant too often. If the plant grows to one side, turn it a little each day without moving the plant. This way, the fig receives equal light on its leaves all around. In the summer months, the fig can receive some extra plant food for additional nutrients.
The soil of the fiddle-leaf fig should always remain slightly moist. We recommend giving the plant several small amounts of water at first rather than one large amount at once. This prevents an excess of water that the plant cannot process. In summer, the plant’s water need is often higher because it uses more moisture. A regular misting of the leaves is appreciated by the fig. Has your plant been repotted? Then always use a moisture meter or water meter!
The fiddle-leaf fig does enjoy good sunlight. The plant even needs this to stay beautiful and healthy. Place the plant as close to a window as possible. When the fig grows little new leaf, this is often a sign of too little sunlight.
Unfortunately, the fiddle-leaf fig is poisonous if ingested. The sap in the stems also causes skin irritation. Be careful if you have children or pets.
- The plant height can vary up to 10 cm and includes the growing pot. The growing pot in the photo may differ.
